The final basket of Xavier's much-needed 78-69 victory over surging Providence was definitely the most memorable. Xavier guard Dee Davis sprinted out ahead of the defense in transition, spotted teammate Jalen Reynolds trailing the play and lobbed the ball high off the backboard instead of attempting a contested layup. Reynolds made the most of the high-risk pass, throwing down a two-handed alley-oop slam for the last two of his 19 points. Xavier's rally from a six-point halftime deficit was critical for a Musketeers team coming off a home loss to Creighton that dropped them below .500 in Big East play. Now they're 15-9 overall, 6-6 in the league and still firmly in contention for an NCAA tournament bid.
