Two Temple players were suspended after they turned themselves in Monday night and were charged with aggravated assault.
Tackle Dion Dawkins and defensive lineman Haason Reddick are accused of attacking a student at a party on January 17. From ABC 6:
As a result of the assault, the family says the student suffered a broken orbital bone and a concussion.
Action News is told the injured student, a senior, medically withdrew from the university, but hopes to resume classes in the fall.
Dawkins was Temple's starting left tackle as a sophomore in 2014. Reddick played in nine games in 2014 and had two starts. He had 25 tackles and seven tackles for loss. Bail is set at $10,000 for both players and ABC 6 reported that both were expected to pay it.
"Temple University is aware of allegations of improper conduct by two of its student-athletes at an off-campus location in January," a statement said. "The university has, and will continue, to fully cooperate with the Philadelphia Police Department in its investigation and will take appropriate actions outlined in the Student Conduct Code. The two students have been suspended from football team activities pending further investigation."
