There’s always a bit more juice in the air for a rivalry game and that was on display prior to Saturday’s showdown between Kentucky and Louisville.
According to ESPN’s College GameDay broadcast, some Kentucky players were stepping on the Louisville logo near midfield. The Louisville side – including head coach Bobby Petrino – was not too thrilled with this development.
The usual shoving match ensued with coaches on both sides trying to break it up.
Eventually the two sides headed back to their respective sidelines, but not before some Kentucky players decided to head over to one end zone and get into it with some Cardinals fans.
Kentucky (5-6) has not beaten Louisville (8-3) or been to a bowl game since the 2010 season. The Wildcats can put an end to both streaks with an upset over the Cardinals on Saturday.
